Chichester's walled city centre is compact enough to walk in 20 minutes. Period properties within the walls are rare and much sought-after — Georgian townhouses and Victorian conversions, all within reach of the cathedral and the market cross.
Just outside the city walls, The Hornet is one of Chichester's most characterful streets. Independent restaurants and delis line the road, and the housing behind it mixes Victorian terraces with converted coach houses. A strong rental market.
A village immediately west of the city, best known for its Roman palace but better known to locals for its harbour access and its canal walks. Quiet and residential, with a handful of good pubs and a strong sense of community.
A few miles to the west, Bosham is one of the most photographed villages on the south coast — tidal street, flint cottages, and sailing club. Properties here move quickly and rarely sit on the market for long.
